What Observe.js collects
The Observe.js SDK, running in your visitors' browsers, sends pageviews, clicks, form submissions, custom events you fire, and lightweight session metadata (referrer, country, device type, browser). It does not use third-party cookies and does not follow users across sites.
What we mask by default
Text inputs, password fields, images, and any element you mark with data-observe-mask are redacted at capture time, before events leave the browser. You control which properties you attach to custom events.
Where data is stored
Analytics events are stored in our managed database, encrypted at rest and in transit. We do not sell or share your data with advertising networks. Access to production systems is limited to on-call engineering.
Your rights
You can export or delete your workspace data at any time from Settings, or by contacting support. We respond to GDPR and CCPA data-subject requests within 30 days.
Cookies
We use first-party cookies only to keep you signed into the Observe.js dashboard. The analytics SDK itself does not require cookies to function.
Changes
As Observe.js evolves, we may update this page. Material changes will be announced in the changelog.
